What are some of the more popular credit cards used today in France & Belgium? I already know that VISA is common. Don't know about a MasterCard.
Do they take Discover card?

Visa and Mastercard are the main ones. Amex is not popular - certainly not with us hoteliers! Roger

From what I've read, Discover Card is NOT good for use in Europe.

That's kinda what I thought about Discover. In Europe, they probably never heard of it. Well, looks like it will be VISA and MC !!
(and Euros of course per Rick Steves' recommendation)

Discover uses the Pulse network system which is not available in Europe. Nor is the STAR network which is common to North America. The Plus and Cirrus networks are the most common.

OK that's good to know. The Discover card stays home. (and from someone so close to Colo Springs too - small world isn't it?)
