Please help me choose a Paris apartment!

I don't have experience with the companies you list, but I have rented an apartment in Paris before. True, the Marais is central in Paris, but it is not central to the main tourist sites. I would rather be near Notre Dame if I had to choose from the three areas you mention. I like to be where I can walk to sites. But the metro system in Paris is great--very convenient--and no matter where you are you are probably not far from a stop. Pull out a metro map and see which lines run near your apartment and if they conveniently reach what you want to see. Sorry I can't offer any comment on the companies you are considering!

The Marais is central. Notre Dame is 4 blocks to the south and metro stops are man( both St Paul and Hotel de Ville are in Marais).
We have no experience with the people you write of but have had apt in Marais thru parisbestlodge.

Maricela,
I have that St. Michel studio booked for my August trip. Of course, I don't know yet excatly how it is going to work out, but what I can say even now is that Victoria was very prompt with the communications, every time I sent her an email I got a reply within a few hours. I studied the map of Paris, and the location looks fine to me, very close to the river, Notre Dame, and Ile-de=la-Cite. I am a good walker, so I think I'll be happy with it. I, too, had trouble deciding at first, but then went ahead and made the decision, and booked. Once you book, you'll stop fretting and can concentrate on other things. Good luck.

Hi Natasha,

I got the web address from reading your post a few days ago. My only concern with the studio is the sofa bed. My boyfriend is very special when it comes to his bed and I am not sure he would be happy with it. The rest of the studio is wonderful, but unfortunately I have to think of him too and he is currently out of town so I can't ask him for his opinion. That is the only negative from the apartment.

The apartment in the Marias is just what we need but I hear that it is not in a very nice neighborhood. RED LIGHT area.

Has anyone else stayed around Rue du Cygne, betw. Boulevard de Sebastopol & Rue Pierre Lescot?

I do not have any experience with the sites that you mention. I have booked an apartment through www.apartmentparis.fr. for June. David who runs the site has been extremely helpful. But it really depends on what your agenda is. If being closer to sites is more important go for the ones near Notre Dame. But I would chose the Marais. It has more of a Paris neighborhood atmosphere. But anywhere you chose in Paris is fine. You can get anywhere by metro.

Maricela, I have no personal experience, but trust the recommendations of others who have used the USA company you will find by clicking on: www.vacationinparis.com/
When you get their home page on screen, note how you obtain the apartment key, etc. before you leave home.
Hope you have a great trip. Bon Voyage! P.
