Any suggestions for lodging in Paris and Amsterdam, that is clean, not too expensive, and can accommodate a family of 4?
paris mr bed city bagnolet.. google for info.
bgl - the Hotel Republique has fairly spacious family rooms. One large bed and two twins in a separate room. The hotel is clean - the kids loved it because the elevator is just about the size of a coffin.
Good Metro access. I would go there again. Have fun.
When our kids were little, a couple of times we had 2 double rooms and split us up 1 parent to 1 kidlet. Disappointing not to be together constantly but in a pinch it worked. Just a suggestion as a last resort.
If you are spending several nights in Paris, it is worth getting a short-stay apartment. You can rent for as little as 3 nights from www.VacationInParis.com. It's an American company; you pay by credit card (no bank transfers) and they are very professional and easy to deal with. We had a 1-bedroom apartment a block off Rue Cler; the living room had a daybed and separable lower "trundle" bed for our 2 teenagers. Two bathrooms and a kitchen completed the scene. We were very comfortable and happy to be able to pick up the makings along Rue Cler and dine "in" on several of our nights.
