My wife and I will be there in May for a couple of days. Any recommendations for moderate priced hotels?

David, If you're planning to stay in Lugano, you might have a look at Hotel Pestalozzi. It's close to the lake, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are great. It's a bit of a walk from the station, so I'd suggest taking a Taxi as you'll be hauling luggage. Happy travels!

We actually stayed in a hostel but it was not your ordinary hostel. They had a separate building where you had a private bath and it was quite comfortable. It was an old mansion Hotel Montarinavery reasonable. check it out. Just make sure you book the rooms with private baths not the building with bunk beds and lots of young people.
