Anybody have a favorite B&B or hotel?
LaRae, in 2006 and in 2010 we stayed at Hotel la Couleuvrine and thoroughly enjoyed it. In 2006 we also had the half-board and had a superb dinner one night and also ate the second night in the wine bar which was also fantastic. In 2010 I had our younger daughter with me so we ate elsewhere because I didn't think she'd appreciate either place. (At the time she was a picky eater!)
We loved our stay at Toulemon B & B (La Maison de Notaire Royal. We had the room with the balcony overlooking the town square. Best value for money accommodation in France. Pieree, is a most knowledgeable and very helpful host.
I second the Toulemon B & B. I stayed there for three nights in June 2009. It was difficult to get in, but once I figured that out, they could not have been more helpful. It was central, cool, and cheap. (The walk from the train station is quite long, though.)
We stayed in Sarlat this past September. Le Bellevue is run by Jenny and David from UK. The price is very good, and breakfast...even better!! They are very knowleable of the entire area. We did a canoe trip down the Dorgonne River. Highlight of the trip. PM me if you want more specifics.
LaRae, I also stayed at Hotel La CouLeuvrine in Sarlat, and would certainly recommend it. It was in a great location, the room was very comfortable and the staff were great. Happy travels!
Looks like a couple nice places to stay. Thanks for the suggestions.
