I would like to thank everyone for their help on places for me to stay in or around Nice. You are and have been in the past a great help to travelers like me especially since I am a solo traveler and over the age of 60 :)!
I have taken your advise in my past travels and have never been dis-satisfied with your advise.
I am still having trouble with finding a place to stay in the 80.00 euro and less price. It doesn't help that I picked the Cannes Film Festival and the Grand Prix for that week. Has anyone ever stayed at HOTEL PENSION PATRICIA. Is it clean, neat and tidy? If it is available?

Have you looked at places in Villefrance-sur-Mer? We did a day trip to this town and thought it was wonderful. Quiet and small, and nice change of pace from Nice. Only a few minutes by frequent train.

The Hotel Patricia gets really good reviews on Tripadvisor. We are booked for Sept., but did the booking in January! I have been on the Riviera during the film fest and Grand Prix. Everything gets booked up and the prices everywhere skyrocket. Masses of people attend both events, including (it seemed like) half of Italy!!! It is a great time to be there if you can afford the accom. and can find anything. Good luck. If the Patricia is booked, perhaps you could ask them for some hotel names?
