Places to stay in Garmisch-Partenkirchen to get to Hiking Without a Car

Hi, my girlfriend and I are looking for a place to stay in Garmisch-Partenkirchen that is accessible to hiking without needing a car. B&Bs and hotels are both fine... preferably less than 100 Euros/night.
Also, I've read a lot online but can't seem to find any really clear advice about how to get to the hiking trails/trailheads without a car. Any advice? Thanks!

Which hiking trails did you have in mind? There are trails that originate throughout the valley.

We have been there 3 times for hiking without a car. Anyplace in the village is fine for access to the trailheads. You may need to take a lift or train, but it is easy. My two favorite hikes there are the Hollental Klamm to the hut and on to the top of the Alpspitze lift (via Osterfelderkopf) and the easy via ferrata from the top of that same lift across the face of the Alpspitze. And wherever you stay, be sure to go to the Dolomiti Eiscafe for Spaghetti Eis for dessert.

Hi, thanks for your replies. We were thinking of doing day hikes (easy-moderate), since neither of us are expert hikers.
I was confused about the transportation to the trailheads--are there trains that go near there, or is it just the cable cars? Or are we confusing something?

You could take the train( the one going up the Zugspitze) to the start of the Hollentaller Klamm hike. Or you could walk there. It is a pleasant level walk in scenic countryside, maybe several kilometers.
