Places to Stay in Frankfurt and Munich?

Hmm, under $70 is getting pretty low. Have you looked on www.hrs.com yet? If you plug in your budget, you will get the hotels that fit. There are B&B's, pensions and private rooms to rent also if you like as well as hostels. The private rooms in the hostels usually run about 70 euro per night though. Frankfurt has 3 of them. The one along the river can be nice for the view and the ease of getting around, plus you get breakfast there.

Or try the "Ibis on the Friedensbruche" as they often have good specials for 49 or 59 a night.

You are in luck too, as the Museum Riverbank Festival is on the last weekend in August and this it truly just about the best festival in Germany.
