I'm looking for a decent place to stay (reasonable/cheap) in the Carcassonne area next week--does not have to be in town as I have rented a car and I want to do a lot of driving out in the mountains. Also, the place does not have to be in Carcassonne itself if it is a nice place. Thanks

You used all of these words to describe the accommodations you're looking for: cheapreasonablenice So that our recommendations will be within your price range, it would be easier if you would give an approximate range or not to exceed cost (not more than __ euros per night) for what you're looking for.Then we can give better advice. Reasonable--under 40-50 Euros, nice--clean, nice people, pleasant surroundings. Does that help?
