Can anyone recommend a good place to stay in Amboise? Thanks for your help.
Susan - Amboise is great and has some nice restaurants. Years ago we stayed at Madame Thierry's B&B - the TI referred us - right in the heart of town and she is so hospitable.
Last time we were in the Loire we stayed in Chenonceaux - I highly recommend it. So quiet in the evening and early morning - cute little village. The Rosaraie (sp?) restaurant is a real highlight.
Have fun!
I can not say enough about this place....
it is worth every penny
I found Hotel Le Blason conveniently located, reasonably priced and very friendly. The ample parking didn't hurt, either. Enjoy Amboise, I'd rank it with Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Lindau as one of the most pleasant small towns in Europe.
We've stayed in 2 hotels in Amboise, both in RS guidebook...the first I do NOT recommend: Hotel Belle-Vue...It was awful. The 2nd: Le Manoir Les Minimes...We liked it a lot but it's more expensive.
Thanks for the suggestions!
We stayed at Hotel Le Manoir les Minimes because it was recommened by both Rick and was #1 at Tripadvisor. It was very romantic and a 3 minute walk to the cobblestoned downtown.
Another vote for Chateau Ormeaux, It's Excellent.
Stayed there 2 weeks ago & it was the Best place we stayed in France.
