We will be catching the train from paris to caen and renting a car to drive to mont st michael. does anybody have any places to recommend eating lunch? we will be also driving back to bayeux to spend the night before our battlebus tour next morning. Any places to eat in bayeux would also be helpful--just great fresh food and we are happy! also, any recommended stops on way to mont st. michael? thank you

Just to warn you that the Mere Poulard Omelet place is not worth dining there. We spent over $100 for an omelet, a fish entree, two tired looking salads, and mediocre wine. We asked for bread that never made it to our table. Waiter had a bad attitude--and the omelet was not even good--not your typical omelet but very puffy and if I remember correctly, it had no cheese, mushrooms, etc.

In Bayeux I would recommend Le Pommier just down the street from the Cathedral. It was Very Good !
Haven't had much luck near MSM, so I would say the grocery store on the right as you enter the causeway to the Mont. To me it was the best option around.
