Place to Stay In Nice or surrounding area?

Here I am again. Thanks to all who have suggested places to stay in Luberon. I have completed my reservations there. I am now looking for a place to stay in Nice or surrounding area that is no more that 80.00 euro per night for one person. Could anyone make suggestions that may have stayed in a nice hotel in a centrally located area. I will be using trains in that area. I will need a place from Thursday until Sunday. I will then fly out to Germany

We have stayed at the Hotel de la Darse in Villefranche-sur-Mer (around the bend from Nice)10 min bus ride or train ride from Nice. Very reasonable, clean, very helpful staff.

barb has a great choice. i stayed at hotel de la darse in 2007 and thought it was great. quiet, overlooking the harbor, a little walk to the train station. i also stayed at hotel le provencal also in villefrance. very clean, centrally located, but not the ambience of the hotel de la darse. villefrance would be a great base, as would antibes.

I've stayed at Hotel Durante in Nice. It is in a quiet cul-de-sac near the train station. Single ensuite was 70 euros recently. It's very nice, even better than as described in the RS book on Provence & the French Riviera.

La Sirena in Nice, 3 blocks from the beach and about 4 blocks from the train station. Bar and restaurant downstairs and wifi cafe across the street.

Hotel Mecure on the Promenade des Anglais- around the corner from the old part of Nice and the flower market- Reasonable rates when we were there 2007. A nice walk to the harbour.
