It's a little further west, but ideally located for the D-Day beaches and Mont St. Michel....

A restored Norman castle with wonderful hosts, Joe and Vivienne Helling. If you want something different and memorable, try it - you won't be disappointed.

For Honfleur (note spelling), it has to be the Cheval Blanc.

Hi Diane,

In Honfleur (I don't mind your spelling) consider Le Fond de le Cour located at 29 rue Eugene Boudin. They have both a main cottage and a converted stable (we stayed in the suite in the converted stable...loved it!). Very sincere, helpful staff (Amanda speaks perfect English), well appointed with a lovely, peaceful garden in a very central location. Great coffee shop/bakery across the street. You're just a two minute walk from the harbour. Be sure to drive the D513 along the coast to Bayeux. Lots of wonderful little resort towns along the way. You're going to love it!

We loved Honfleur, and even though it is quite a distance from the Day Day beaches, used it as our base to explore the area. We wanted to stay at La Cour St Catherine (once you see it you will understand why) but it was full. Instead we stayed at the Hotel Monet, which actually is a really neat little "motel type place" covered with grape vines.

We enjoyed our stay there.

Another vote for Hotel de Sainte Croix, in Bayeux. The best breakfast I ever had. I took Jo's advice and stayed there last fall and was really glad I did. Bayeux is the perfect location for touring the beaches and D-Day sights. I loved Honfleur too. The Cour de Sainte Catherine or something like that was a good place to stay.

Look no further! We stayed in Bayeaux for two nights last August. Le Tardif is right in town, walkable from Bayeux train. It was charming and quaint - a B and B to remember! Antonie runs it with his mom.
