Picking up train tickets in Paris

I went online (sncf.com) and purchased RT train tickets from Paris to Beaune. The email said I should use the self-service "kiosk" to pick up my tickets. Can't I also get them at the train station (read that sometimes the self-service kiosk has a problem with US credit cards)? Do I have to get them at the train station where I will be departing from, or is there some place closer to the 7th where I am staying? Also, can I pick them up ahead of time, vs. the day of my journey?

Thanks for any info!

You can pick up your tickets at any mainline train station or SNCF ticket boutique and you can do it ahead of time. If you pick them up at a station, go to the window. US credit cards don't work in French ticket machines because they don't have an embedded chip in them.

Be sure when you go to pick up the tickets that you take your confirmation and a copy the "dossier" they sent you in an email.

If they have any trouble with the system this proves that you actually paid.

Thanks, Jona, and everybody!

Which train station is closest to the 7th, which is where we are staying?

I would go to Gare Sainte-Lazare from the rue Cler area. Metro 8 to Madeleine, then Metro 14 to Sainte-Lazare. From other parts of the 7th it might be easier to go to Gare Montparnasse. Check your Metro map.

Does anybody know if I can also pick up my tickets at one of the SNCF offices? Per Rick's Paris guide, there are several in the city, including one in the 7th, not too far from where we are staying.

Yes, any SNCF office will print them for you. Bon Voyage!
