I have never made an international call before and have been unable to make a call to confirm a reservation in Paris. Any help would be much appreciated.
I tried to put the country code 011 in front of the number they listed the first part of their number is 33(0) 145...
It should be 011 33 1 45...
The 011 exits the US net, 33 for the French net, 1 for the Paris area, and 45.. connects to the individual subscriber line.
The zero in brackets is only for calls from a French land line outside the Paris area: 0 to exit the regional net, 1 to enter Paris, and 45... for the subscriber. And n Paris it would be simply 45...
Pat: 011 is the gateway code for international calls from the USA & Canada. 33 is the country code for France. Your telephone number should begin like this : 011 33 145 and the rest of the numbers. N.B. You drop the zero after the 33, which is used only when making calls inside France. Post again if this doesn't work for you, giving us the entire tel. number.
You need to drop the 0 after 33.
011-33-145...
Thanks everyone it worked!! Of course, nobody answered since it is now 6:25 pm over there. At least I know how to get through and will try again tomorrow.
Merci!
