I am a professor from the U of Dayton. Tomorrow I am taking 17 of my students from Augsburg to Berlin and hopefully to the Pergamon. Last time I did this, there was no admission. Is there admission fee? I won't get there until about 4PM, so my memory tells me that after __ o'clock, students are admitted free. Do I need student ID's? True or false? Help. Dennis
There is admission fee of € 14. It is necessary to book a time-slot, they have a maximum limit on entrances per time slot (of 15 minutes) there and on the Neues museum as well. You can show up at the ticket booth and see whether they still have tickets available for that afternoon. The easiest way is to book those tickets online. If you arrive and all time slots are taken for the day, you cannot enter the museum. There is no time limit for staying inside the museum, only for entering it. Free admission is restricted to "c) University / college students in scheduled lecture time accompanied by a lecturer". I don't know whether that is restricted to German universities or not. In any case, you need to register a group to qualify for that, if it is the case. All information available here: http://www.smb.museum/smb/standorte/index.php?p=2&objID=27
The students should get 50% off but they do need to show student ID.
Can you tell us how it went, Dennis? What did the students think of it? HOw about you? And did they let you through for free?
