I'm interested in taking a perfume workshop in Paris. The only one I've found lasts only 2.5 hrs but costs about $140. Has anyone taken the class? If so, was it worth it. Any alternatives?

Hi Anna,
I would suggest you check Tom's Guide to Paris (above link). If you don't find exactly what you want to know, scroll down to the bottom of the guide home page to "Contact Me", click on it and send Tom an email with your question(s).
..... Bon voyage!

Anna -
I haven't taken such a workshop. I am guessing you do not speak much French? Upon reading this one of my first thoughts is you may be able to get plenty of information in this way and it maybe more fun and less expensive other than the perfume you end up buying.
There is a boutique here in Paris that has a small museum. You can get a nice history here and experience some lovely fragrances etc. Scribe Museum at Metro Opera - guided tour is free
Then, you are a short hop to Galleries de Lafayette or if you like I also recommend Bon Marche (Sevres Babylone metro). Spend some time at the amazing perfume counters there.
