Pension or inexpensive hotel in Hannover ?

I may be visiting Hannover in early March (not 100% certain) to attend the huge CeBIT conference there. I will be travelling alone and don't require much in the way of ameneties.

Can anyone recommend a couple of options? I am also checking Tripadvisor, but I wanted to ask here as well. I understand rates are variable and will likely be much higher due to this big conference, but I still would like some suggestions.

Thank you - Mark from Atlanta

You might be a little late to even stay in Hanover. I know I had to make reservations for CEMAT (which was in May of '08)in December of '07. Looking at the fair website, it looks like they are already in the stratosphere, however, there is a train station at the site, and you might consider looking anywhere along the rails from Frankfurt, while I had to put people up--I think they were an hour away.
If you can get into or near the city, target being near the trolley line as it also has excellent service to the site. Usually the entry ticket to events includes the trolley for the time of the event.
Good Hunting.

I've never stayed in Hannover, so I can't recommend anyplace, but if you go to Hannover's website, www.hannover.de, they do have an English language side. Click on Tourism > Accommodation. "Boarding house" is the listing for Pensionen. I would expect most places listed on the English side to respond to an email in English.

Thank you Jerrry, Lee.

That's an idea I hadn't even though of (the city's own tourism board and website).

Even if I don't go to CeBIT this year, I do expect to make a trip there sometime within the next few months, so it'll all come in handy.

Once again, thank you.

You'll find that most German towns, even small ones, have a website at www.[town name].com, and you will often find accommodation lists on them.

If you need more help with finding accommodations, PM me. Hannover has an S-Bahn system (see www.gvh.de) that includes Hameln, of Pied Piper fame. I imagine it's a tourist destination and might have plenty of accommodations at this time of year.
