My husband and I tried to book 2 tickets for the passion play in late May,2010. We had no problem finding accommodation but no luck getting tickets...except via Tour operators that are charging about 3 times the rate...crazy...Does anyone know if the local hotels can get us tickets or is it all in the grip of the Tours...the hotel we had booked the room with was in Ober, not that far away. Thanks
It's been reported here, within the last month or two, that tickets are no longer available except through tour operators. I don't know from personal knowledge if that's correct but that's what has been reported here.
The official website of the Passion Play is here. Click on U.S. and Canada, then on "how to book". It only mentions packages and tours.
We have been having the same problem. If you can get someone to read German, you can stick with the German language part of the basic web site and get an order form printed out. We did so and have yet to find a translator, but I do think you can do it!
