Passau, Germany and driving Austria-Linz to Hallstatt and Salzburg

We are traveling (train) by way of Rothenburg and then Passau. Any suggestions for sights/restaurants? We pick up a car in Linz and drive to Halstatt then on to Salzburg. Any suggestions in general or specifically for places to see (doing the Salt Mine) and restaurants? Thanks for your help!
