Any suggestions/thoughts about visiting the park in mid-July? We would most likely enter the park through Sanlucar.
We took a boat cruise through the Parque from San Lucar in April a few years ago. It had some time off the boat on a short guided tour. This was a spur of the moment trip but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Not sure what it will be like in July. Part of the walk included going to some animal blinds to watch for wildlife but nothing much came by while we were there. But I would suggest doing. The scenery is wonderful and the boat road to it, if you take it, is also very good.
I've only been in the park during early spring and late? fall -- for the migration periods, which were great.
I've been within a few miles of the park in the summer. I've also lived in the Potomac valley during the summer. The heat and humidity are much more pleasant in Washington.
If you want to see wetlands, go to Savannah or the South Carolina Low Country or something.
If you catch a decent day with a bit of breeze, go for it.
Yikes. We live near Washington, DC, and it's not fun in the summer! We just want to experience some of Spain's natural resources as well as its historic and cultural landmarks. any suggestions welcome for outdoor adventures in southern spain (mostly near Cadiz and hill towns) in July.
Then do it. Be a tourist and take a water jug and floppy hat and you'll be fine. Early or late in the day will obviously be better. If it's real still, go up on the dune area instead of down in the marsh. There's nothing else like it around.
For other spots, I'd assume you have Gibralter and Arcos on the list? There's also a ferry across Cadiz bay to Rota that fairly interesting.
thanks so much. we'll probably play it by ear. had heard of the ferry from El Puerto to Cadiz but not to Rota. will check it out. thanks again.
