Where would be the best place to park our car for a day of sightseeing in Sevilla?
Norm,
I knew I could rely on you!
The best place I've found is a large underground parkade at Paseo Cristobal Colon (the southwestern part of the 'ring road' around downtown Sevilla) just past Calle Adriano...which is JUST past the bull ring as you're heading northeast. Look for Blue signs with the giant P (for parking) and the label "Paseo Colon." Go to maps.google.com and copy and past the following coordinates into the box (37.386744, -6.000446) and you can use Street View to see the entrance off to the right, just past the traffic light. If you're coming in from the other direction, I believe the entrance is almost right across the street. Walk back south a bit, past the bull ring, and you'll find some great little cafes and restaurants on sidestreets like Calle de Dos Mayo where there are few, if any, tourists. You'll pop out right at the Cathedral.
Be aware too that, despite what maps and GPS may tell you, Av. de la Constitucion is closed to vehicular traffic, as is most of Plaza Nueva....it's all now just for pedestrians, cyclists, and the new light rail service.,...very quiet now, and very refreshing!
