Parisian monastery stay for high school group

Trip for next Spring Break for h.s. French Club. Are there monasteries or other places to stay? I'm already looking at hostels on hostelworld. Does anyone know if college dorms are available in Paris?

Well Paula ,, are you the organizer? Where do you usaully stay in Paris?

I am not aware of monstaries in the middle of Paris.. but you could google and see what comes up.

How many kids and what ages?

I would strongly recommend any of the three MIJE hostels in the Marais. They are renovated 17th-century private mansions and many schools groups stay in them.

We took our school group in June 2008 and stayed at the Hotel Royal Phare in the VII with the Ecole Militaire Metro being 15 steps from the hotel's front door and 2 ATM machines located 5 feet from the front door.

Paula, one consideration re hostelling which really depends on the age of your kids as for what impact this will have.

They will be mingling with much older folks at hostel, it might be better to look at hotels. A 14 yr old girl may find rooming with 21 yr olds eye opening.. but perhaps that bit of enlightment could be put off till she is a bit older,, just a thought. And, as I said, if your French club is 17 and 18 yr olds it won't matter so much.

These are sophomores, juniors and seniors in h.s. I am not going to put them in a hostel with anyone outside of this age range. The two suggestions for lodging so far have been great. I'm not coordinating this trip - just helping - but may be one of the chaperones. I'm also looking for info. on discounted transportation for students, discounted admission fees for students and/or student groups, etc.

Students don't typically pay for entrance into anything in Paris - they're free. Now, if you have a GROUP that's a bit different. Yes, most places of interest will let you make "Group Reservations". Louvre, Palace of Versailles, Versailles Gardens, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame Tower, etc. We also made dinner reservations at a couple of places just so we could have a group dinner. Otherwise, they were free to go anywhere around a 2 or 3 block radius of our hotel in the VII. Luckily there was an abundance of cafes, boulangeries, patisseries around us so it worked out well.
