Hello, I have been given the great blessing to go speak for my company on a Mediterranean cruise leaving Barcelona and touring South France and Italy the first week of July. We were thinking of going in early and spending 3 or 4 days in Paris. We have a 7 year old daughter and are having a hard time trying to figure the best option for the 3 of us when it comes to lodging. It looks like most hotels in Paris are 2 singles or twins. The last time my wife were in Parisnon business we stayed at the Marriott Champs on points. This time will be all 3 of us out of our pocket. Our budget would be up to $400/nt. Thoughts and suggestions? Thanks!
You might try vacationinparis.com. We always rent an apartment from them and they may have some that they would rent for less than a week. They are an amazing company and you have the keys to your apartment before you leave the states.
I'm not sure if you are wanting more of a luxury hotel, but I have stayed several times at the Hotel d'Argenson. It's in the 8th, not far from the Marriott. But it's only a 2 star hotel. It's family run and they have family rooms, with a double bed and a twin. The rooms are large and clean. Breakfast is included, but they do not have a breakfast room, so they bring your breakfast to your room. I've always had a good experience staying there... Oh, and I think it's about $150 per night for the family room.
If you can luck into an internet deal (we managed this once), the Intercontinental Le Grande Paris is absolutely over the top. We stayed there with our two kids and loved it. It's a beautiful, classic old hotel if you can snag a good rate. In France, be sure to be specific about 3 people in the room. They have strict occupancy rulesnot like the US where you can toss in a couple of extra kids no problem.
If there are other hotels you like, it is always worth it to send an email and ask what sort of accommodation they have for a family of 3. Many European hotels have family arrangements that aren't visible via webite. We've uncovered some real treasures by just asking.
Both Hotel le Regent and Hotel Millesime, both in the 6th arrondisement, have triples. We've stayed in each of those hotels, husband and I, with our child, over the course of several trips to France.
Yes, you will have to look for hotels with triples, they book by the heads.. Hotel le Regent is a good suggestion , great fun central area, rooms are smallish compared to really nice places , but nice. Book deluxe rooms, standards are tiny. Also , look at Hotel Brighton, rooms are most reasonalbe size for Paris, and if you get a Tuilleries View room you will love it, my 13 yr old loved that hotel . There are literally dozens and dozens of nice hotels in your price range.. have you looked at the listings/reviews on tripadvisor.com. I always use them for reference, have personally booked at least 8 or 9 hotels using them ( i use them for info, I book directly through hotel websites though) .
We stayed at LeMeridien Etoile and had three in a room...around $400. Nice sized rooms for Paris. Newly refurbished 2 yrs ago. A few steps to metro or nice walk to Arc de Triomphe. My sis and I are staying again this year with our girls.
We stayed in the Hotel Duquesne Eiffel with our daughter on our first trip to Paris. It is in an excellent location (Eiffel Hotel and Rue Cler), the rooms are spacious for Europe and some of the views from the hotel are excellent. The Metro is close by so getting around is fairly easy.
