Paris with 4 kids 2 adults

Has anyone stayed in Paris with 4 kids and 2 adults? What recommendations do you have for accommodations?

How long will you be there? You might be better off with an apartment rental. I went through vacationinparis.com in October and was quite pleased. They are a U.S. based company, you pay with a credit card via paypal, and they mail you the keys before you leave.

If you are staying for more than three nights and you are not drowning in so much money you don't know what to do with it all, you should really rent an apartment. There are hundreds available, many with room for 6 and the rate will likely be about half the cost of a hotel. It is a very common option for savvy tourists in Paris, and a fantastic option for families.

We stayed in an apartment for 5 just one short block from Notre Dame for a full week last July and the total was about $1200 ($172/night). Look around and see what 2-3 hotel rooms each night will cost you in Paris!

Plus, if you have the gumption to shop for food and cook some diners and make some sandwiches, you can save a fortune on food, too.

All that may seem like more trouble than you want to deal with, but you can save enough to buy all your children laptop computers when you get home. Tell them that and they will volunteer to do the dishes for you, I'll bet :-)

to find a place (the web site is UK-based) but there are many more, and better web sites/services that hopefully others will chime in with. Good luck.

You didn't mention the ages of the kids, but I vote apartment also, for the reasons of security and food in the frig.

I agree with Randy, an apartment rental is a very good option, you'll get more space, have the convenience of the apt amenities, the cooking facilities and will save money on food as it's always much cheaper to prepare your own food than have to eat every single meal in a restaurant. The agency I have used in the past, and that some of my friends have used as well is called New York Habitat and they have vacation rentals in Paris. Their website is www.nyhabitat.com Also look at their blog, full of good info and tips for your stay in Paris www.nyhabitat.com/blog Enjoy your stay in Paris, it's such a great city, with plenty to do with kids, too.

My kids are 15, 13, 11, 8. My other issue is we fly standby. Do apartments allow for cancelations last minute if we are unable to make our flights?
