I realize this is supposed to be a place to answer questions, but I am responding to one that is constantly being asked, "What should I wear in Paris?" We just returned yesterday, hence the update. June 30, July 1, July 2---Paris is having a heat-wave, it is about 90 degrees. The women are wearing sundresses, strapless or tank-top, and have ditched the ubiquitous scarves. Length for those past teen-age is knee-length or just above, not super short. Footwear is mostly low-heeled or flat sandals, those who are seriously walking have Teva types, those who are probably shopping or lunching have cute little strappy ones. Pants are mostly capri type for the heat.
July 3, it rained and the temp. dropped to around 75 degrees. Scarves are now back around the necks, some women have little cardigans over the sundresses. Full length pants are back.
As a tourist, you could manage with black pants, a black skirt, a nice pair of dark jeans, plus assorted tops.
It's a big city, you can wear anything, but lots of women worry about looking good in Paris. So, I hope this helps.
Excellent post. I've been to Paris many times and this information is right on.
Thanks for the info! I'm going there in a few days and had planned on wearing black cropped pants, and it sounds like I'll be bang on with that.
We just got back also. I saw lots of sandals and skirts. My daughter commented to very few women wore pants. It was HOT HOT HOT, so pack accordingly. Very few things are air conditioned, and even if they are, it's still 80 some degrees, inside.
