Paris/Vienna/Reutte/Mosel

We are 2 adults plus a 10 year old boy planning 2 weeks in Germany, Austria and Paris in about 2 weeks. Looking for non-dumpy places to stay for 3 of us on reasonable budget (100euro or less per night). Any suggestions? I saw the Hotel marginan suggestion for the family in paris- so I will try that direction. Also, any suggestions for fun things for a 10 year old boy to do in these cities that is unique or fun? We are traveling by train (or bus as necesssary) Finally, suggestions of stuff to do on Good Friday and Saturday before easter for non-religious folks...(we'll be in Vienna or near Frankfurt, not sure which yet).
Thanks!

If you're planning on staying in any one place for three days or more, I would recommend renting an apartment. You can easily rent apartments for 100 Euro or less per night in most places you're going to ( Paris will be challenging, though ). And best of all, you get to go to all the open air markets and eat ( and cook! ) all of that incredible local food!

Why are you going to Reutte? I havent found any reason to visit that town except for potentially cheap accomodation. have you checked out the town on any eweb site? Skip it. If you must be in the area consider Garmisch or Fuessen. You'd probably do better trying to see the castles on a day trip from Munich. Tons to see and do in Munich

Mosel: I'd suggest Cochem. "Moselbad" waterpark just across the river and downstream from town is a hit with kids. So is the falconry show (11:00, 1:00, 14:30, 16:00) at Reichsburg castle and the chairlift ride. Reutte really is not worth the stop. The weather in the Alps is pretty "iffy" then as well. I'd advise you to see Salzburg or northern Bavaria (Rothenburg, Nuremberg, Würzburg or Bamberg) instead. What about a castle? On the Mosel, don't miss seeing Burg Eltz castle (near Moselkern, a short train ride + hike) or take a train ride over to the Rhine for Braubach's Marksburg Castle; both have terrific tours. The Reichsburg Castle tour in Cochem is an option as well if you don't have time for the others for some reason but it's not as interesting. http://www.bensbauernhof.com/accommodationsrhinemosel.html
