Paris Vacation Rental

I would appreciate any recommendations for vacation rentals for a week to ten days in Paris for next June. Are there any preferred neighborhoods? Or neighborhoods to avoid? It will be just the two of us, 50's good health.

I assume you already have a copy of RS Paris Guide Book. If not, you should get one as it has lots of information that will help you in your planning for a stay in Paris as it did us in 2009.

@Bets Actually I looked back for over a month of posts before asking my question and there is not one single post about apartment rentals in Paris. I was hoping to get some recommendations from people who have rented there. I do have the Rick Steve's guide but it doesn't give apartment recommendations.
thanks

Maggie, We spent a week in Paris last summer as part of a three week trip. We used Parisperfect.com for the 5 of us. We had a 2 bedroom but I know they have studios and smaller places. We were one block from the Eiffel Tower with a view. It was very centrally located. They were very helpful determining which rental would best suit our needs. good luck and have a great time.

I don't have the 2011 France book but I do have the 2011 Paris one; page 373 mentions apartments and refers readers to page 407 with company recommendations. Not mentioned is vacationinparis.com which is the company we used last year. We thoroughly enjoyed the apartment in the 7th arr. and definitely appreciated the company. It was great having the apartment prepaid and having the key in hand 2 weeks before our trip. Phoning them will get you the most up-to-date info and suggestions. (No, I'm not employed by them nor do I even know anyone who is! I just think it's a great company!)

We have stayed in this apartment very close to Place des Vosges - http://www.vrbo.com/79965 three different times totaling two and a half months (2007, 2009, 2010). Love this apartment as well as the location.

I definitely recommend an apartment for a stay that long. I use vrbo.com and homeaway.com to find apartment rentals. About 2 1/2 years ago we rented vrbo #5967. It was the perfect Parisian apartment if you are able to climb 4 flights of stairs. The reward for your climb is a view of Notre Dame. It is in the Latin Quarter (arrondissement 5), and is ideally located with a metro stop on either end of the small street. It is not touristy, but is close enough to walk to many tourist locations. The owner lives in California and you pay her in U.S. dollars, so no worries about the exchange rate...for that anyway!!! Have a great trip!!!
