Paris Train/Metro

We will arrive at DeGaulle on 6/28 in the AM Leave for Avignon on 7/1. Plan to use RER and Metro while we are there. What is the most efficent way to purchase and use tickets for that time. Thank you

Hi Sherrill--At most RER/Metro stations you'll see a manned ticket booth. Go up and asked for a carnet of tickets (un carnet, s'il vous plait) and you'll get a pack of ten individual tickets cheaper than you'd pay if you bought them individually. You can use them for riding the metro and riding the RER, if you are traveling within Paris. Make sure when you ride that you hang on to your ticket to insert in the machine at the turnstile when you exit. After you use a ticket, rip it in half so you don't confuse it with an unused one.

Another option for you is the Paris Visite pass which can be purchased for one day unlimited rides within the zones purchased

If you purchase the 2 day zone 1-6 it will include your travel between CDG and Paris as well.

Note there are also a few sight discounts with the Visite pass
