I am starting to plan our second trip to Europe for next summer. The Valle d'Aosta area of Italy looks fantastic. We are thinking of traveling from Paris to Valle d'Aosta and possibly staying in Courmayeur for a couple of days. The hiking possibilities look amazing. It looks like the easiest way would be to take a train form Paris to Chamonix and then travel from there to Courmayeur either over the cable cars (this looks incredible) or by bus. We will have backpacks for luggage so will be able to be pretty light. So - here are my questions: Any recommendations on traveling from Paris to Courmayeur? Any experience on how snowy it will be in this region in late May/early June? We would like to do some hiking but I know that snow lasts a long time in the alpine regions. Courmayeur looks like a neat town - any suggestions for other towns in the area based on experience? Thanks in advance - Jennifer
