What is the best, and least expensive, way to get from Paris to Normandy for a day-trip?

Voting here has been about 95% to 5% that Paris to D-Day beaches, cemetery, etc is very challenging to do as a day trip. If you search on prior discussions (search box upper right) you'll see the reasons given.

They take care of everything for you! (Even the train ticket from Paris to Caen if you like). It couldn't be easier!

Definitely take a tour if you want to day trip it. You will see so much more and can actually relax and enjoy the journey.
There are tours to suit many budgets.

I would suggest taking the train to Bayeux. It's a direct train ride with one stop in between. I would suggest staying at least two nights. Battlebus tours is a good tour company but you have to stay in Bayeux to book with them. I only took a 1 day tour and wish I had taken more.
