Paris to Cochem

My wife and I are looking for the cheapest way to get from Paris to Cochem on May 20 (Sunday). We are college students, ages 23 and 21. When I try to book a ticket on bahn.de it says that what I want isn't available. If anybody has any suggestions, that would be much appreciated.

Try going thru Koblenz or Trier then bus it.

I just checked bahn.de and found tickets available for 20 May for the route Paris Est-Saarbrücken Hbf-Cochem(Mosel). The departure times are 09:06, 13:10, and 17:10. The 2nd class fare for a TGV from Paris to Saarbrücken and a regional train from there to Cochem is €90.

"what I want isn't available" Since there are connections available, the question has to be, what do you want? Why don't you want what's available? And, although this advice will not help you at this time, it might help someone else, if you book well in advance, you can get online fares for a lot less. For example, for July 25 you could get a fare of €29/p on the 7:06 train or €39 for the 9:10. But the discounted fares go up as the lower priced ones sell out, so that, for your trip, the only discounted fares available today are in 1st class.

There technically ARE tickets that are available, but when I click to purchase them it says that "Unfortunately, there is no offer that meets your criteria. Please start a new search." I wish that I would have known that point to point can be so much cheaper three months ago, rather than just a week ago. Overall, we are saving quite a bit of money rather than using the pass, but I was just curious if anyone knew some kind of trick that I wasn't aware of.

If I try Paris to Cochem for May 21, I don't get that message, and if I try Paris to Saarbruecken on May 20, I get the no offers message. I'd guess the train from Paris to Saarbruecken is sold out.
