I am staying in Paris in June and would like to take a 2 day trip to Berlin. How are the airlines, if it difficult to get to the smaller airports. How far in advance do I make plane reservations? Is it doable with one overnight in Berlin?

The earlier you buy your plane ticket, the cheaper it can be. Air Berlin goes as low as 11 euros per ticket before taxes if booked way in advance. It's a fairly short flight. I'll let someone else answer about the airports Air Berlin uses, since I used Air France last time.
