I must be extra slow today because I can't figure out the cost of a trip from Paris to Barcelona with a France/Spain rail pass. I'm trying to figure out the time of the trip during the day versus the time at night as well as the cost. I would think this would be an awesome trip to see during the day but since the focus of my trip is Spain, is it better to maximize the time and sleep on the way? Is the cost really 170.00 in addition to the rail pass?

It is a hotel train so VERY pricey. I decided to take a plane which is cheaper.

Traveling by train will not give much views of the towns. I suggest you to look into flights. If you book the flights ahead of time you get a very low fare. I use skyscanner.com to chek out fares then I go to the air line company and book the flight.
