In October I was fortunate enough to be one of the lucky winners of one of the European Cities giveaways on this site and plan to do the Paris tour starting 19 Jun. The tour lasts 7 days and I want to extend my European vacation with a bike tour along the Danube from Passau to Vienna. Does any one have any suggestions or tips on how I would travel from Paris to Passau? I was thinking I could take the train to Munich, then on to Passau to start the bike trip.

There are several dealing with the Danube bike trail. You will get all the info you need
Do you have your bike rental figured out? Reason I ask is because I did a bike tour on a portion of the Danube in the fall of 2009 (best thing ever!). Initially I thought it would be simple to bike from one end to another and that there would be some bike company set up to do that - but one way bike rental wasn't really an option. You had to circle back at some point. We ended up using Grape Grazing Tours and though we weren't able to bike the entire stretch we wanted to - I think we definitely saw the best part of it.
Thanks for the advice. I follow crazyguyonabike and that's where I first read about biking the Danube. Through one of the blogs I found this company Bike Tours Direct and I've connected with one of their reps. Her suggestion was that I bike along the Loire Valley which is just 1 hr by train from Paris. Then on the last day I can take the train back to Paris for my flight back to the states. I'm really looking forward to this whole new adventure in my travels.
