Paris theater district

I am going to England and France with some students in March. I have been to New York City before and know I ccan find broadway plays in Time Square. I found out about the Leicester Square theater district in London. But where is the theater district in Paris and is there a place to get cheap tickets like in NYC and London?

The source for cheap tickets seems to be the Kiosques Théâtre, located near the Madeleine, Chatelet-Les Halles, and outside Gare Montparnasse.
