Paris - Take II in September

Our planned trip to Paris in April was cancelled due to the volcano! We are now re-booking for the first week of September...anything different in September versus April in terms of weather, attractions etc...that we should be aware of?

Heather,
We also had to cancel in April due to the volcano. Also re-booked for September. My favorite months to
go to Europe are May and September, great time to go. You will really enjoy the weather! Hopefully, the
volcano will cooperate. Travel insurance is a must!

Happy Travels!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe travel insurance will not cover you in the event of a volcano-related cancellation because it is classified as a "foreseeable event." Travel insurance excludes coverage for "foreseeable events".

I asked a travel insurance company about insurance related to the ash cloud and flight cancellations. I was told that flights and hotels were only covered IF the airport was completely closed for something like 72 hours and no flights left for anywhere else during that time (more like flood or hurricane conditions). During the worst of the ash cloud times, the airports were still open and people flew to unaffected destinations, so the travel insurance would not have helped at all. This may vary by company, however. Best to always find out all the details.
