Paris: speaking of lines

I am carefully reading the thread on Museum Pass use and the lines you need it for. We're heading to Paris at the end of February for a full week. Are the lines better at that time of year? We'll try to do the very popular things (Louvre, Eiffel Tower) during the week. Is the Eiffel Tower more or less popular at night?

The Eiffel Tower is not covered by the Paris Museum Pass. It has recently become possible to book tickets on the Eiffel Tower Web site for access to the elevators at a specific date and time. No waiting in line! See here. Choose "Lift entrance ticket" (8 EUR) if you wish to go only as high as the second floor. Choose "Lift entrance ticket with access to the Summit" (13 EUR) if you want to go all the way to the top. Or for 4.50 EUR you can climb the stairs to the second floor.

For most of the museums and monuments that have separate ticket and entrance queues (a few do not), the ticket line is usually much longer and slower. I've seen the ticket queue wrap around the block for the Centre Pompidou, while you could walk right through the entrance with the Pass. Depending on the site and the time of the year, you may save as little as a few minutes to almost an hour of waiting time.

For the Eifel Tower (as noted, not covered), the lines become much shorter at night, so much so that I've walked right up to the ticket booth and elevator at 8 pm . I had a longer wait trying to go down than up.
