I finish a tour in Paris Oct.12th and fly out of Lisbon 8 days later. I see myself going by train through Spain with maybe a couple of short stop overs, and going along Portugal's coast. Looking for small villages with hiking as my main activity. All by train. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Rich

Fly to Madrid 2 days (day trip train or bus to Toledo - Train to Sevilla 2 days- Train to Tavira from there buses run from Tavira to Lagos and Salema.We did this by car but I think you then could take a train from Lagos to Lisbon. Check out RS Portugal and Spain books wonderful information.
