Paris sights from Orly

We're planning to go into Paris from Orly in the morning, and back to Orly in the later afternoon. We want to do some kind of "loop" and see Notre Dame, walk (at least part of) the Champs Elysee, down to the Arc De Triomphe, and perhaps a boat cruise from the Eiffel Tower area to Notre Dame. It doesn't matter which place we start from. We're planning on going into Notre Dame, otherwise it's just to "view" everything else. Any thoughts on route, transportation and time? Thanks.

Take the people-mover to Antony station, then the RER to the Denfert-Rochereau station....transfer to Metro line 6 (direction Charles De Gaulle-Etoile) and ride it around to the Arc de Triomphe. This line is elevated for much of its route, so you'll get a nice view of one of my favourite residential areas of Paris along Boul. Grenelle....it will also pass close to the Eiffel Tower, but you probably won't see much from the train right then. Your RER ticket is good for a transfer onto the Metro.>br>
At the end of the Metro line (direction Charles De Gaulle-Etoile) you'll come up at the Arc...you can then walk down the Champs Elysees (and I emphasis "down" here, as in "down hill"), across the Place de la Concorde, thru the Tuileries gardens to the Louvre. Exit the Louvre area to the right, turn left along the river, and in a block or so, you'll be able to cross over to Ile Notre Dame. The little park at the western tip is a great place to relax. The down the island to the east to see Notre Dame itself. After Notre Dame, cross to the south to experience a little of the Left Bank. If you want, you can then walk all the way down the south bank of the Seine, passing its beautiful bridges, the Musee D'Orsay, and Les Invalides to the Eiffel Tower. Or if you're tired of walking, you can find the St. Michel-Notre Dame RER station on the left bank, take a C line train (destinations Versailles-Rive Gauche, Saint Quentin en Yvelines, or Pontoise) to the Champ de Mars-Tour Eiffel stop, and come up to see the tower. Then head for the nearby Bir Hakim Metro stop, take line 6 back to Denfert-Rochereau (direction Nation), and take the RER B line to Antony, where you can catch the people-mover back to Orly. As the agent at the Bir Hakim stop for a ticket to Antony station, and make sure you take the RER B line labelled "St. Remy les Chevreuse." If you take the train labelled "Robinson," it will split away before you reach Antony station. Five hours should be adequate time.
