Paris- Shuttle Service for 6 people from CDG? Can I book a whole van?

I need a shuttle service for 6 people with (by RS standards anyway) lots of luggage from CGD to the 7th. I'm worried I'll book one that shows up with a minivan- no way we'll fit. I get really ill flying, so I'm not even considering the train or bus. Although we're on a really tight budget, a shuttle/van is the only option I can see.

We've got 3 Adults, 2 grown teens and a 12 year old (so no small kids). I'd like to say we'll be traveling light, but we're based in the same an apartment for the stay, there's some health equip. coming (no special needs on transport) and this is a first trip abroad (for all by husband and I) so I've decided not to sweat the luggage issue.

Anyway, has anyone used a good shuttle co. for a larger group like ours? Is there a way to book a whole van less expensively than individual reservations? Any suggestions? THANKS!!

Google the Paris Connections website. They can reserve a van big enough for you.

Nancy,, I understand you don't want to " sweat the luggage issue" ,, but you will sweat , since you will have to carry all that baggage, shuttle drivers don't consider themselves porters,, LOL , and good luck finding such a thing at the airport. And, many apartments do not have elevators, or if they do they are the size of a phone booth, seriously, it will take one person serveral trips in the elevator ferrying luggage. Really, do pare luggage down so you WILL enjoy trip much more.
BTW , if you all bring one suitcase and one carry on I would think a van would work,, just tell shuttle company six adults with luggage, I mean , they will assume everyone will have one suitcase and one carry on. Unless you are staying longer then two weeks that is all you need.

I always use Parishuttle. Check out their website.
http://www.parishuttle.com/ They have never been late and have always loaded the bags for me. Of course, I would tip 1 euro/bag if you have quite a few. You can book and pay online. Good luck!

Just one note for you regarding this many people and bags - the shuttles may charge you extra for luggage so do be aware and ask up front.

It is typical if there is a lot to move around that they impose a bit of a surcharge.

Paris Shuttle is whom I use most often from home to airport.

Oh, just found "Paris Connection", Google kept coming up with other things. 120E for 6 people, not sure if this is private or not. Off to send another note...

Thanks all. I sent notes to both services (and asked about surchages/luggage costs also...yes, I'll work on paring it down). We have other complications I wanted to confirm they could handle also. My daughter arrives at the same time, but on another airline/different terminal. We have two apartments, but just a few blocks apart.

I was surprised at the difference in price for a private van (concerned about a shared shuttle as I need to get daughter at the other terminal). Paris Shuttle is private-100E (84E if we booked shared) and Golden Air is private-148E (Wow-I can only afford to book G.A. at the shared shuttle price of 19E ea.). I wonder how much two taxi's would cost and if we'd fit...probably more $$ anyway? Hmmm....

Your party will easily fit in two regular taxis. If you don't overdo the luggage, you might all fit in one minivan taxi. Since the meter will be running, the fare will vary depending upon the traffic. Expect to spend 50-60 € for a taxi to Paris city center (+ Pick-up charge: 2 €). In addition to the metered fare, you'll be charged a small amount for suitcases weighing more than 5 kilos: 1 € per item.

FYI- Just heard back from one company- Paris Connection. They want 152 Euros each way, private larger minivan, with the extra quick stop at the second terminal to get my daughter (arriving the same time). That's 25.34 Euros per person or 304 Euros total= or about $450 for airport transfers. Seems like a lot of money to us!

Hi Nancy--We paid 17 euro each, one way, for our party of four (got the Rick Steves discount by asking for it when we made our reservation) with Golden Air shuttle. We had a minivan for our party, but I see on their website they have 15 passenger vans as well. We were very happy with their service and would definitely recommend them.

Nancy take taxis for goodness sake, sounds easiest and cheapest in long run, plus, what happens if your daughters plane does NOT arrive same time,, either of you could be late, you want the shuttle driver to wait... for how long.
Tell daughter to take taxi into town, or tell her to take the RER and then get a taxi when she arrives in Paris, it is easy and many of us do this all the time and by ourselves.
Then the rest of you get a taxi.
A taxi will run between 50 and 75 euros depending on a few factors ( luggage one euro a bag, and traffic, rush hour makes the trip more expensive of course).

Thanks again. I added up the taxi and since 5 of us come into one terminal, I'm guessing that we won't fit into one taxi? So that's two taxi's at one terminal and a third at the other terminal for my daughter...so this would be even more expensive?

It's been four days now and I haven't heard anything back from Golden Air or Airport Shuttle....hmmm.

Ambrosia- Wow! Bluvan's rates are the only ones I've seen that go down that significantly with more people. I just sent them a note about our two terminals issue asking for a quote (STILL haven't heard back from the other two companies!??). Thanks!

I suggest you ask your hotel to book a service for you. We have stayed at the Hotel Le Littre (6 arron.) twice in the past three years. They arranged a taxi with a particular service. We were met at the luggage area of the train station or CDG. Then we were driven directly to our hotel. The same thing happened for the return trips to CDG. Our driver met us. It was an arranged price; no surprises at the end, no matter how much traffic we hit.
