Paris Shuttle

Can someone recommend a reliable shuttle service to get from CDG in to the city?

Mike,

There are LOTS of possibilities! Have a look at:

www.airport-connection.com/

www.parisshuttleservice.com/

parisairportshuttles.com/

paris.airport-shuttle.com/

You might also have a look at parisbytrain.com for information on the Roissy Buses and the RER "B" line into Paris. I used the RER on my last visit in May and it was very easy to connect with the Metro at Gare du Nord.

You might want to have a look at the France or Paris Guidebooks, as the pros & cons of the various transportation methods are listed.

Happy travels!

Mike,

Actually, the "adventure" would probably be a memorable experience for them. I've never had a problem travelling that way, even with two Backpacks and a Camera bag.

The only issue might be buying tickets for the RER, as you would need a "chip" credit card to use the automated ticket machines at CDG. There is a staffed ticket office that will accept other types of credit cards, however the queues are often LONG.

Cheers!

I've done the train with luggage for 6 weeks and two young children. It's not a problem! Just take your time. Gather your possession, walk out to the train and get tickets. Then stroll to the platform. The ride in will be scenic and relaxing.
The Metro can be more challenging so in town we usually use a taxi to the train station. But on that first trip we did the metro to our hotel station, that is why I recommend going to a train station and taking a cab (smile emoticon).
When my kids were really young I hired a driver over my husband's protests. When we arrived there was a rail strike and we were saved by Monsieur Bernard and his minivan! But I no longer have his number.
