PARIS - Rick's Restaurant Recommendation: Le Bosquet

We are going to Paris in April, and based on Rick's video we are going to try this place for SURE! They have renovated since he was there, and it looks too modern now in my opinion, but I still want to try it! My question to those of you who have been is: is it really as special as he made it out to be in that video? or is it pretty much like any café in Paris? Thanks!

I haven't seen the video, but we ate our first meal in Paris there in 2009 and it was modern like the pictures online. We thought the food was great. I had fish and my husband had scallops. I Googled it and found lots of reviews with good things to say about it. It was particularly good for us because we were staying at a hotel just a couple of blocks away and because it was an easy walk over to the Eiffel Tower after the meal. Admittedly our experience is limited, but I'd say the food at Le Bosquet is better than the average cafe in Paris, the location is great and for me, the decor was fabulous. By the way, we just walked in with no reservations and were seated graciously and immediately. The service was excellent.

Well i don't know the prices, but I read the reviews and they all looked pretty decent with a rare exception . Seems like a safe bet for a nice meal out. Good luck, and let us know!

Another good restaurant in that area and is in RS guide book is Le Petite Troquet. Tiny, charming, good food at reasonable prices.

One sure thing about Paris is that there is NO lack of great restaurants. You don't need a Rick Steve's recommendation - just look for the crowd and you will find a great restaurant.
