Paris Restuarants when it's too rainy for sidewalk cafes

Our first Fall/Winter trip to Paris and would love recents recommendations for restaurants with good food and indoor atmophere in the 5th and 6th, or anywhere wonderful and new in the last 5 years.

When we have been in Paris on rainy days the cafes are still a good choice. Most have large awnings that they crank out when rain is imminent. If you choose a cafe at a busy intersection, it is actually very entertaining to sit there, warm and dry, sipping a cafe au lait, watching the hurrying and scurrying of those trying to get out of the rain and others just enjoying walking in it. But, if you really want to be inside, the Musee d'Orsay is a wonderful place to spend a rainy day and has a beautiful restaurant as well as a very good cafe.

There are tons of little restaurants where locals eat- usually one or two streets away from the main through streets. If you are lucky you will find one where they find you a seat at a long table with everyone else. bistro type food.

In addition to the awnings, most places have see-through vinyl drop-down wall type deals and space heaters. Go where you usually go.

Polidor, rue M. Le Prince in the 5th, but in recent years I think it must be in some guide books. Long tables. Homestyle food. Don't miss one of the few squat toilets still in use in Paris.

My wife and I like eating at Marinara's in the 6th which is a non-touristy place with mostly locals. A few years ago we were eating here when Italy-USA was playing in a world cup soccer group match. Another restaurant in the 6th we like is Positano's.
