Paris Rentals

I am traveling to Paris for 6+ weeks beginning in October, and need a reliable apartment to rent. Anyone have any experience with rental websites for Paris?

yes rental is a good option. i rented a studio in the marais area once. the owner met me at the place and we paid cash upfront, when we leave we just leave the key on the table and lock it for him. it's pretty easy to book on website, and folks are honest to deal with. it's pretty clean with kitchen so if want to save money you can cook.

Try VIP Rentals (Vaction in Paris). I haven't used it yet, but it was suggested by a friend. I emailed them my dates and the apartments I was interested in and they emailed me back right away. They told me what they already had booked, what was free and some other options in my price range in place of the choices that were already booked.

I rented twice from VacationinParis and they were great both times.

We used VRBO to rent an apartment in Paris. One advantage to renting directly from the owner is the possibility of negotiating a better price. For 6+ weeks you might get a good discount. Are you planning on going THIS October? At this late date you may have trouble finding something with a vacancy for that period of time. If that becomes an issue you might want to try staying in two or three places, in different area. That way you get a variety of neighborhoods.

Thank you to everyone for your replies. They have been extremely helpful! I was wondering if anyone has ever rented through MyParisVisit.com. I was sent a few fantastic apartments off of this site this morning, and they almost look too good to be true... Thanks!
