I'm staying outside of Paris for 3 weeks, have determined how many times I will likely travel back and forth into the city, and have determined that the month long Passe Navigo Decouverte is the most economical ticketing option for using the RER system. One question though: Does the pass also allow me to make unlimited use of the metro and/or buses while I'm inside the city? I believe it does, but would like confirmation or feedback from someone who has had the experience of using it. Thanks!
As long as you buy a Navigo Decouverte with all the zones you need, you can use it for metro, trams, RER, SCNF trains and buses inside those zones (so, including all of Paris). The monthly pass is a calendar month so need to look up what the last day is that you can buy one to use for the same month, if your travel doesn't coincide with exactly a month. You can probably find that in French at ratp.fr , or in English at vianavigo.com .

Perfect! Thanks!
I used the weekly Passe Navigo Decouverte when I was there last time and it was perfect. Remember to bring your own picture to affix to the card (required size is on their website). As long as your trip is timed within their start and end dates (weekly cards begin on Monday and end on Sunday) it can be a great way to go.
