I am wondering if anyone has any advice about which pass is the better value; the Paris Pass or Paris Museum Pass. The Paris Pass seems to offer more, but I would like to make sure. I'm also wondering if when activating the passes, if you have to use all of your days (such as a 4 day pass) in a row. Thanks!
Stephanie,, the Paris Museum pass is considered a good $$ value if you see 2 or more sites a day. Versailles alone costs 18 euros and is covered by the pass so that alone often makes it worth it. The Viste pass is generally not considered a good value on any forum I have ever gone on.. The Museum pass must be used for consecuitive days only. It is best to plan your days to take best advantage. Most museums close either monday or tuesdays, so make sure you see the ones you want on the days that work out best.
Once you activate, you are on the clock. A lot will depend on your own schedule and what you feel you can do in the days allotted. Make a list of what you absolutely positively want to see and try to calculate time needed. Trust me, large Parisian museums are NOT 2-hour affairs. And Versailles? That's an entire day ('cause the little town is also fun). Passes will get you around some crowds but we have actually been on line where everyone else had passes also. Do your homework. AND ENJOY!!!! I am so jealous.
Pat and Sharon - thank you both so much for your advice! This definitely helps us in our planning! :)
