we arrive by British Airways on Monday evening...wish to purchase a paris pass to use the following morning. where can i purchase that evening...so i can move fast the next early morning?
Do you mean a Paris Viste Pass or Museum Pass. Most agree the higher price of the Paris Viste Pass is not a good deal. How long will you be in Paris,, and on what day of the week do you arrive..( there is a transportation pass that runs sunday to sunday that is a good deal, 17 euros plus a 5 euro start up fee) and museum passes can be purchased for 2 , 4 or 6 days. In some cases even a MP is not needed, depends on your trip and what you plan to see.
As for moving pass next am,, most sites don't open till 930 or 10.. and cafes sometimes aren't open till 730 or later! Paris is not an early morning city.
thanks for the info! i should have been clearer. we arrive on a monday evening...so, the navigo visitor pass sounds like the right one for us (we are staying in vincennes, zone 2). the plan, at this point, is to go to versailles that next day (so early enough to travel there and have breakfast before the site opens at 9 am. i am thinking that the paris museum pass will work best (for 2 days).
If you plan to get a Navigo Decouverte, be sure to have a 1" x 1" head shot photo for it. It can be any photo cut to size, it needn't be a proper passport photo.
If you are landing at CDG, there is a place to buy a Paris Museum Pass just outside the security area. It's not to far from the ATM. I'm not sure about Orly. Going to Versailles is usually the tipping point to justify the Paris Museum Pass economically. Even if not justified economically, it's great to bypass ticket lines at some of the more popular sites. You didn't say how long you were staying. In my experience it's good to have the museum pass for every day you plan to be visiting locations covered by the pass. Trying to do too many museums on any given day really wears most people down.
We were in Paris for 6 days and used the 4 day musuem pass, we found it saved us money and time, since we didn't have to wait in long lines.
