Hi--
We are travelling to Normandy in April and have four extra days before going home to Italy. Our children are 12, 10 and 4 and we have been to Paris. Great but perhaps too much for our 4 year old. Suggestions for kid friendly things in Paris OR should we spend it elsewhere around Paris? We have a car and will be flying out of Paris.
Disneyland Paris.
Maybe extend Normandy to Brittany, hit Carnac, then swoop down the back way through Chartres and spend last day in Paris for the fun of it?
We took our 13, 11 and 9 year olds to France last August for 9 days from America. We did Paris for five days, Normandy (Bayeux) for two and then Amboise in the Loire Valley for two days. Amboise is pretty much a cool old castle, with a small town at its base. We went to another Chateau in the area for a day trop. I know my kids liked it but it was very laid back - we were relaxing together. I don't know if your 4 year old would be into it, but they have some kind of huge puppet show every year in Amboise - set on the grounds of the castle. It was something we decided to skip. I don't know if it's only in August or if it's presented in April as well.
Kid friendly things we did in Paris: the Ferris Wheel at the Tuilleries, sailing a boat in the Gardens of Luxembourg, walking up the Eiffel Tower (I didn't care for that but it skipped a very long line), getting food and having a picnic in the park in front of Eiffel Tower, walking the St. Germaine neighborhood and night and having ice cream and listening to the musicians and the people - that was soooo cool! Also, Baton Mouche ride, Musee D'Orsay.
