Paris Museum Pass versus City Passport

Help please - This museum pass versus city pass thing is very confusing! If we buy a 4-day museum pass, is it good for unlimited entry into the various museums on more than one day or must each attraction be visited on only one day, for example, can we go back to the Louvre on Thursday using the pass if we already went on Wednesday? I think we have decided to buy the 5 day Passport which gives us a 4-day museum pass plus unlimited bus transportation. Have others found that this pays for itself? Thanks,
Cindy

Hi Cindy. I can only comment on the Paris Museum Pass. I was there for 7 full days plus a daytrip to Versailles, and bought the 6-day Museum Pass. You can go to as many museums as you want during four days, including visiting museums more than once. You just have to do it during four consecutive days. As far as transport - we bought 2 carnets (10-packs) of Metro tickets, plus six more individual tickets, during our 8 nights in Paris. We didn't ride the buses because the Metro goes everywhere we wanted to go. We also walked a lot.

Cindy , yes it is just as Sarah says, the Museum pass is good for unlimited visits to all included museums or site, within the days you purchased, so yes, its great for return visits.. The Louvre is a lot to take all in one visit, so breaking it up into two or three visits is a great idea. I also just buy a carnet of tickets, I rarely use more then one a week since I mostly walk, but it is handy to be able to jump on a metro or bus if tired, and you will need it to get to some sites that are less central then others. Very few people find they get their moneys worth from the City pass, Paris pass or whatever they call it.

it's unlimited visits to sites, so you can go back multiple times. i found climbing the arch de triomphe is really fun in the evenings with all the lights up, and that's the time most of the museums are closed so i can get extra miles out of the pass. i once did that 4 nights straight until the people working there know me personally and i can ride the employee elevators down.
